Acura has kicked off deliveries of its first all-electric model in the U.S. and is already rolling out enticing discounts for the ZDX. The deals, particularly attractive for lessees, could slash over $11,000 off the price, depending on the trade-in vehicle.
The ZDX qualifies for a $7,500 federal tax credit, applicable to both lease and purchase options, as confirmed by the Department of Energy. While the leasing financial entity typically receives this credit, Acura is passing the full $7,500 incentive to lessees for the ZDX.
To further sweeten the deal, Acura is introducing a Launch Lease Support program, adding $2,875 in discounts, as per details from a dealer bulletin shared with Cars Direct. This combination of incentives potentially offers a total discount of $10,375 for the ZDX A-Spec.
But the incentives don’t stop there. Acura is extending a $1,000 discount to current Tesla owners or a $1,000 loyalty discount to existing Acura lessees, further increasing the potential savings to $11,375.
Despite its higher MSRP of $65,850, the ZDX could end up being more affordable to own than the MDX, an internal combustion SUV with a Tech Package, priced at $58,400 MSRP and an effective monthly cost of $770. With the discounts, the ZDX’s effective monthly lease cost drops to $749.
Built on General Motors’ Ultium EV platform, the Acura ZDX A-Spec boasts a single electric motor delivering 340 hp (254 kW / 345 PS) to the rear wheels, with a twin-motor Type S model offering 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS). It’s powered by a 102 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 325 miles (523 km).
