U.S. charging network operator Electrify America said it has installed a total of 500 high-speed electric vehicle chargers across 105 retail locations owned by property group Simon, marking a major expansion of a partnership that began in 2018. The chargers are located at Simon shopping malls, premium outlets and mixed-use destinations across the United States, giving EV drivers access to charging at some of the country’s busiest retail centers. Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has strengthened its traction battery warranty for customers in Norway, extending the coverage to eight years or 250,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, the company said. The updated warranty takes effect immediately and applies not only to new buyers but also to existing BYD electric vehicle owners, excluding the eTP3 electric van. The previous warranty limit stood at eight years or 200,000 kilometres, meaning the new terms mainly benefit high-mileage drivers. Xpeng delivered 36,728 vehicles in November, maintaining near-record monthly volumes despite a sequential slowdown, as the Chinese electric vehicle maker pushes to reach profitability and expand its overseas footprint, the company said on Monday. November deliveries rose 18.88% from a year earlier but fell 12.58% from October’s level, according to company data. AYK Energy will supply a three-megawatt-hour battery system for Greenpeace International’s next flagship vessel, a 75-metre sailing ship scheduled to launch in 2027. The Andorra-based battery manufacturer said it is expanding production capacity to meet what it described as a “prestigious order,” secured through a system integrator. The Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) at RWTH Aachen University has completed its three-and-a-half-year ‘PEAk-Bat’ research project aimed at reducing the cost and time required for battery production.
