Tesla Model Y with BYD blade batteries gets approval from the European Union, report says
Citing leaked documents, the Tesla Model Y with blade battery from BYD has received approval from the European Union, teslamag.de says. According to the teslamag.de report, approval was granted by the Dutch Vehicle Authority (RDW) on July 1, 2022. The report states that the new Model Y is called Type 005, which is internally referred to as the Tesla variant Y7CR. US electric vehicle subscription company Autonomy said it would buy 3,140 electric vehicles from Hyundai Motor Co., and its affiliate Kia Corp. The purchase is intended to strengthen the ranks of its fleet, as quoted from Yonhap, Thursday (11/8/2022). BYD supplying blade batteries for the Tesla Model Y produced by Giga Berlin, report says
BYD blade batteries supplied to Tesla have already started shipping to Giga Berlin, Germany, Sina Tech said today, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter. This delivery makes Giga Berlin the first to use supply batteries from BYD. This wagon-style electric car will be based on Renault’s first-generation Dacia Logan re-badged.
