Vehicle to Grid (V2G) specialist Nuvve in collaboration with San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) have agreed to develop an electric school bus that can return energy to the grid. BMW recalled 83 unique electric vehicles iX and i4 after investigating several battery fire incidents involving two electric cars. In a report found by Autoblog, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warned owners of iX xDrive 50, iX M60, i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50 vehicles not to drive, charge, or park them inside. Prime Planet Energy & Solutions (PPES), a joint venture for electric vehicle batteries between Toyota and Panasonic has secured lithium supplies from ioneer Ltd’s Rhyolite Ridge mining project. The supply of lithium is to make electric vehicle batteries in the United States. Under the agreement, ioneer will supply 4,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate annually for five years to Prime Planet Energy & Solutions (PPES). Nobina Group has ordered electric buses from Ebusco. A total order of 19 Ebusco 3.0 electric buses with a length of 12 meters will be used by the Danish transportation company Midtrafik, for public transportation within the city and around Horsens.
