CATL and BYD continued to dominate the global electric vehicle battery market in the first seven months of the year, jointly accounting for more than half of total installations, according to industry data. Nio posted a narrower net loss in the second quarter as it reduced expenses, while reiterating its goal of reaching its first quarterly profit in the final three months of the year. Tesla has reduced the price of its long-range rear-wheel drive Model 3 sedan in China by $1,400, less than a month after introducing the longest-range version of the car in the country.
