The company’s new BESS platform builds on a previous concept and is intended to integrate seamlessly with electric power solutions for construction and mining applications. “Our modular and scalable battery-electric platform is designed to support the electrification ecosystem—combining high-performance drivelines with the crucial energy storage subsystems for efficient charging and operation,” said Hannes Norrgren, President of Volvo Penta Industrial.

At the core of the system is Volvo Penta’s “Cube” battery pack, an energy-dense unit optimized for compact job site solutions. The Cube pack is designed for both stationary and mobile applications, allowing for flexible scaling based on operational demands. Additionally, a Volvo Penta-developed DC/DC unit will be showcased, capable of converting high-voltage battery output to lower voltage levels to support auxiliary systems and portable offices.
