Portuguese manufacturer Efacec has introduced its new “Charging Hub” platform, a modular charging solution designed to support charging parks with up to 16 DC charging points and a combined power output of 1.6 MW. The platform is designed for passenger cars and commercial vehicles and consolidates charging technology, medium-voltage equipment, automation, grid integration and software into a single system. French energy provider Sorégies has agreed to acquire BP’s fast-charging business in France, including more than 600 existing charging points and nearly 200 additional points under development. The transaction also covers charging equipment, transformer stations and the associated development, construction and operations team. The deal includes 32 operational BP Pulse sites with more than 600 charging points, along with 14 sites under development that are expected to add nearly 200 further points. Lidl Netherlands has completed the rollout of electric truck charging infrastructure at its six distribution centres, with the latest installation at its Waddinxveen logistics hub. The retailer plans to use the network to support electric deliveries to all 440 of its Dutch stores from 2027. The charging hubs are located at distribution centres in Almere, Heerenveen, Oosterhout, Weert, Etten-Leur and Waddinxveen. The expansion of public fast-charging infrastructure in the United States slowed in the second quarter of 2026 as charging network operators shifted their focus from rapid expansion to improving reliability and profitability, according to charging data platform Paren. Norwegian energy companies Eviny and Statkraft have agreed to combine their public fast-charging operations in a deal that would create the largest fast-charging provider in the Nordic region, subject to antitrust approval.
