Renault Austral will have multiple powertrains options

Renault promises more features of the upcoming Austral SUV, including a choice of multiple powertrains.

“The new Renault Austral has entered the final stages of its development,” said Renault, Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Renault Austral will conduct a series of ‘Confirmation Runs’ tests for about 100 cars over a distance of about 2 million kilometers.

Renault also confirmed that the Renault Austral will have several powertrains to choose from.

The Renault Austral will have a line-up of hybrid engines, the latest generation E-Tech hybrid, 1.3 TCE with 12V mild hybrid solution, and 1.2 TCE with 48V mild hybrid technology powertrain.

The choice of powertrains makes the Renault Austral SUV more performance-oriented and reduces emissions.

The Renault Austral has been tested in France, Spain, Germany and Romania. Around 900 drivers will cover 6 million km on open roads out of a total distance of 14 million km.

Renault ensures the latest Austral SUV is prioritized for the European market. But the company hasn’t announced a launch date yet.
