Renault Austral Still Brings E-Tech Hybrid

Although pure battery-powered cars are being intensified by Renault, this French manufacturer still doesn’t want to leave the latest E-Tech Hybrid technology which is still in its infancy. Renault developed the CMF-CD3 platform.

Yup, Renault is preparing a new model in the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) class, the Renault Austral. Reportedly is entering the final testing to continue as a mass production car development.

There are at least about 100 units of Renault Austral being tested in the European region. This is to ensure that the vehicle has met various important tests such as reliability to the durability of the components used.

Renault has approved Austral to carry out tests known as “Confirmation Runs”. Originally 100 units of Austra should be able to collect a total distance of up to two million kilometers.

Cross-country testing was carried out starting from France, Spain, Germany, and Romania. Involving 900 riders to traverse 600,000 km in real conditions. While the remaining 1.4 million kilometers will be carried out on the circuit.

The CMF-CD3 platform is equipped with a driver assistance system. In addition, it is equipped with silencers to the comfort of the suspension system, so that later consumers can really enjoy their vehicle.

The hybrid engine that will be crammed using gasoline is combined with the latest E-Tech hybrid technology. The engine is 1.3 TCe with 12V mild hybrid. And, for the first time, there is a 1.2 TCe with 48V mild hybrid.
