Aito, the automotive brand backed by Huawei and Seres Group, will officially launch the updated M9 SUV on March 20, the company announced on Weibo.
The brand’s latest model follows a strong pre-sale performance, with over 3,800 reservations recorded within the first hour after orders opened on March 6.

The M9, first introduced on December 26, 2023, is Aito’s third model after the M5 and M7. Initially available only as a six-seater, the company plans to introduce a five-seater version in September 2024 to widen its market appeal.
The updated M9, which recently appeared in a regulatory catalog from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), retains its predecessor’s dimensions: 5,230 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, with a 3,110 mm wheelbase.
The M9 is one of the most expensive models from a local Chinese brand, with seven variants priced between RMB 469,800 ($64,900) and RMB 569,800. The pre-sales starting price for the updated version is RMB 478,000, with early customers eligible for a RMB 10,000 discount upon paying a RMB 5,000 deposit.

Alongside the M9, Aito is preparing to launch another new SUV, the M8, in April. Pre-sales for the M8 began on March 6, starting at RMB 368,000. The model also saw a strong initial reception, with over 7,500 pre-orders secured in the first hour, Aito said on Weibo.
