Yangwang, the ultra-luxury sub-brand of BYD, will officially launch its flagship U7 luxury sedan on March 27 in Shenzhen, the company announced on Weibo.
The model, priced around RMB 1 million ($138,000), will feature advanced technologies, including BYD’s high-end DiSus-Z body control system.

Yangwang first unveiled the U7 in January 2024 as its flagship new energy sedan. The vehicle appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) regulatory catalog, showing it is powered by four permanent magnet synchronous motors, each with a peak output of 240 kW.
The model made its real-world debut at the Beijing auto show in April 2024, followed by pre-sales beginning in November at the Guangzhou auto show.
The U7 will be available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants. The BEV version is equipped with a 135.5 kWh high-performance blade battery, capable of delivering a CLTC range of 720 kilometers. Customers can secure a reservation with a deposit of RMB 20,000.

Yangwang has highlighted the capabilities of the U7’s DiSus-Z body control system in recent promotional videos. The DiSus-Z system, the latest addition to BYD’s DiSus series, has completed development and testing and is set to launch alongside the U7, the company said on March 7.
