Hyundai is set to unveil its next-generation electric performance sedan, the Ioniq 6 N, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10, marking the next step in the company’s evolving N division strategy. Building on the success of the Ioniq 5 N, the upcoming model is aimed at delivering a sharper, more dynamic driving experience in a sleeker package.
The Ioniq 6 N’s development stems from the 2022 RN22e concept, with prototypes undergoing extensive testing in recent years. A first teaser arrived in April 2025 alongside the facelifted standard Ioniq 6, but newer preview images now highlight the performance model’s distinctive design and technical upgrades.
Key visual elements include a swan-neck rear wing mounted above an integrated ducktail spoiler, aggressive bumper inserts, and widened fenders—all styled in Hyundai N’s Performance Blue with red trim accents. Lightweight wheels and high-grip tires emphasize its track-focused intent.
Hyundai has made extensive chassis revisions compared to the Ioniq 5 N. The Ioniq 6 N will feature redesigned suspension geometry, a lowered roll center, extended caster trail, and stroke-sensing electronically controlled dampers. These changes are aimed at refining responsiveness and stability, especially during high-speed cornering.
The EV also includes updated versions of Hyundai’s N e-Shift and N Active Sound+ systems, designed to simulate the tactile and aural feedback of a dual-clutch petrol car. These are integrated into all drive modes and paired with an “N Ambient Shift Light” to enhance driver engagement through simulated gear changes.
A revised N Drift Optimiser has also been added, offering expanded adjustability to suit a wider range of drifting skills and track conditions.
Hyundai has yet to confirm powertrain specifications, but the Ioniq 6 N is expected to carry over the dual-motor setup and 84 kWh battery from the Ioniq 5 N, which delivers up to 641 hp (478 kW) with N Grin Boost engaged.
“The Ioniq 6 N is designed to deliver the most engaging driving experience possible in an EV,” said Joon Park, Vice President and Head of the N Management Group.
The model’s public debut at Goodwood will provide the first live demonstration of Hyundai’s most track-capable electric sedan to date.
