General Motors (GM) has announced a nationwide recall of nearly 15,000 Cadillac Vistiq electric SUVs in the United States and temporarily suspended shipments of new vehicles after identifying a defect involving the third-row power seats. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling 20,991 model-year 2026 battery electric vehicles in the United States after identifying a software defect in the battery electronic control unit (ECU) that could cause the electric drive system to shut down while driving. Slate Auto has announced pricing for its all-electric Slate Truck, with the pickup starting at $24,950 as the company prepares to begin customer deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2026.
