Luxeed, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery Automobile under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), has released official images of its upcoming V9 multi-purpose vehicle as it moves closer to a market launch in China.

The newly published images show the Luxeed V9 in a bold exterior finish with extensive chrome detailing and large alloy wheels, highlighting a design approach aimed at the premium end of China’s MPV segment. The V9 is a seven-seat model and will be the first MPV offered under the HIMA umbrella.

The image release follows Luxeed’s filing of the V9 with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), marking the final major regulatory step ahead of commercial launch. According to the latest MIIT catalog, the Luxeed V9 measures 5,359 mm in length, 2,009 mm in width and up to 1,879 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm. Depending on configuration, curb weight ranges from 2,750 kg to 2,940 kg, and the listed top speed is 190 km/h.

The Luxeed V9 is powered by an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) system. A 1.5-litre turbocharged engine supplied by Chery serves as a range extender, delivering a maximum output of 115 kW. The electric drivetrain is paired with battery packs supplied by CATL, with buyers able to choose between ternary lithium-ion or lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. Battery capacities are listed at 37 kWh and 53.4 kWh, corresponding to CLTC-rated pure-electric driving ranges of between 158 km and 223 km.

The Luxeed V9 is expected to debut in China in late first quarter, entering a rapidly crowded MPV segment where numerous domestic and joint-venture brands are launching electrified people-movers. Despite growing interest in large family-oriented vehicles, the segment remains highly competitive, with many models vying for a relatively limited pool of buyers.
