Luxeed, the electric vehicle brand co-developed by Huawei and Chery, launched updated versions of its S7 sedan and R7 coupe SUV on Friday as it seeks to expand market share with lower pricing and advanced driver-assistance features.

The updated Luxeed S7 is priced from 229,800 yuan ($32,130), while the R7 starts at 249,800 yuan, both below earlier pre-sale prices. Each model is available in three trims — Max, Max+, and Max Ultra — with prices ranging from 229,800 to 289,800 yuan for the S7 and from 249,800 to 309,800 yuan for the R7.

Both vehicles are equipped with Huawei’s ADS 4 driving assistance system and feature hardware including a 192-channel LiDAR, rear-facing solid-state LiDAR, and five 4D millimeter-wave radars.

The updated S7, built on Huawei’s 800-volt Giant Whale platform, offers a CLTC range of up to 855 km, while the R7 provides battery electric and extended-range options with ranges of up to 736 km and 360 km respectively.

The updated models are the first launched under Luxeed’s “Phase 2.0” initiative, following a new cooperation agreement signed between Huawei and Chery on Aug. 7. Luxeed said it plans to invest more than 1 billion yuan and expand its R&D team to 5,000 people to strengthen its technological capabilities.
