BYD received an order for 64 electric buses from Nobina, the largest bus operator in the Nordic region. Deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2023, BYD announced today.
The 64 electric buses ordered by Nobina consist of 40 units of 12 meter electric buses and 24 units of 15 meter electric buses, which will be operated in the Nedre Glomma area.
The electric bus ordered by Nobina has BYD’s thermal management system, making it adaptive to the different climatic conditions in Norway, further increasing efficiency, BYD said.
Lithium iron phosphate batteries used to power the trolleybus give it a range of 450 km for the 12-meter trolleybus and 400 kilometers for the 15-meter trolleybus on a single charge, according to BYD.
This order is not the first, so far Nobina has more than 300 pure electric buses operating in cities and towns in Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Currently, there are more than 650 BYD electric buses in the Nordic region, covering a total of 55 million kilometers and reducing CO2 emissions by more than 59,000 tonnes.
“We look forward to introducing more BYD non-polluting eBus to Norway providing clean and emission-free local public transport,” said Edison Yin, Regional Manager BYD Nordics.
BYD is China’s largest NEV company, selling 217,816 NEV in October, a new all-time high and the second month in a row with over 200,000 units.
