BYD has just announced a substantial order for 30 electric buses from Nobina in Finland. This order is a significant order from Finland for BYD’s electric buses. Nobina is the largest public transport operator in the Nordic region.

The 30 electric buses ordered by Nobina consist of 15 low-range electric buses of 13 meters, with another 15 of the 15 meter low entry model. Previously, Nobina had ordered 70 units of electric buses produced by BYD.

This latest order is scheduled to be delivered to Finland by the end of 2022 to be operated as daily public transport.

Nobina has around 300 BYD-built electric buses either in service, or on order in cities in Sweden, Norway and Finland.

In August 2021, BYD completed delivery of 119 e-buses to Nobina for operations in the cities of Helsinki and Turku, which is Finland’s largest electric bus order.

The two electric buses that Nobina ordered have a range of up to 300km and 400km, respectively. This is due to BYD’s new generation of iron-phosphate battery technology, which provides optimized battery life and maximum performance.

Petri Auno, CEO of Nobina in Finland, said: “We will start operating the BYD e-bus from our largest depot in Espoo early next year and continue to fill our fleet with sound, clean, zero-emission solutions. to the environment.”

In total, there are already 600 electric buses produced by BYD throughout Scandinavia. Altogether the buses have covered 40 million kilometers and reduced CO2 emissions by more than 44,000 tonnes.
