Ford CEO Jim Farley said Ford would build a second electric truck after the F-150 Lightning. This was said by Jim Farley during the start of the regular production of the F-150 Lightning. Earlier this year Lucid revealed plans to expand to Europe in 2022. A recent report from Autocar suggested the Lucid Air could launch for markets outside North America by the middle of the year. Citing a company spokesman who asked not to be named, said Lucid would start exporting Air to Europe and the Middle East in “June or July,” followed by further expansion into China in 2023. Volta Trucks recently launched two smaller electric truck models for urban delivery. Both models of electric trucks are planned to start production in 2025. Volta Trucks said it will roll out a fleet of 7.5-ton and 12-ton truck test vehicles to customers in 2024. Alfa Romeo is considering reviving the Mito small car in the form of an electric vehicle. The Alfa Romeo Mito itself was discontinued three years ago with an internal combustion engine. In Autocar’s report, the all-electric Mito will come in a five-door model, as opposed to the three-door version of the ICE. Hyundai has partnered with We Drive Solar, a Dutch mobility provider, to use 150 Ioniq 5 electric SUVs to create what is billed as the world’s first two-way energy system. The city of Utrecht in the Netherlands will be the venue for the collaboration between Hyundai and We Drive Solar. Honda is determined to develop autonomous vehicles to compete with Tesla in the global automotive market. To that end, Honda signed a memorandum of understanding with a company in Japan to develop an autonomous taxi service in Tokyo. The two companies are the Teito Motor Transport Company and Kokusai.
