The Isle of Wight Council has awarded a contract to char.gy to deploy more than 1,500 public electric vehicle chargepoints across the island, as part of efforts to expand access to on-street charging. The rollout is supported by £1.625 million in public funding through the UK government’s Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Programme (LEVI), alongside private investment. The council said the project will not require direct financial contributions from its own budget. Under the agreement, char.gy will design, install and maintain a network of chargepoints, focusing on residential areas where access to private driveways is limited. The initiative aims to address…

Kempower, together with Windrose and EV Realty, has completed its first Megawatt Charging System (MCS) session in North America, marking a milestone in the deployment of ultra-fast charging for heavy-duty electric vehicles. The test was conducted at a charging hub in San Bernardino and utilised a Kempower Mega Satellite charger under real-world operating conditions. The installation includes a 1,200 kW power unit connected to two MCS dispensers, capable of delivering up to 1.2 MW and 1,500 A of continuous output through liquid-cooled cable technology. The site, developed by EV Realty, is expected to open in April 2026 and is designed…

SK Signet, part of SK Group, has introduced a new 400 kW all-in-one DC fast charger designed to improve installation efficiency and support the company’s global expansion strategy. The SK Signet 400 kW All-in-One DC Charger integrates power modules directly into the charging unit, eliminating the need for a separate switchgear cabinet. This design simplifies deployment and reduces construction costs compared to traditional decentralised systems. SK Signet said the new model delivers a 54% reduction in footprint compared to its previous generation of chargers with similar capacity, while achieving energy efficiency of up to 96.5%. The improvements are enabled by…

Chinese electric truck developer Windrose and charging specialist Autel Energy have demonstrated megawatt charging for heavy-duty vehicles in the Netherlands, with both companies saying the trial confirmed system interoperability in real-world use. The test was conducted in Roosendaal using a Megawatt Charging System (MCS) connector at a site operated by a customer of Revolt, a Dutch distributor of charging infrastructure. The location was selected partly due to its proximity to Belgium, where Windrose is preparing to expand its European operations. According to the companies, the charging setup combined three Autel MaxiCharger DS480 units operating in parallel to deliver up to…

Mobility services provider DKV Mobility has partnered with German defence and technology group Rheinmetall to integrate Rheinmetall’s sidewalk charging solution, known as the Ladebordstein or “charging curb,” into DKV’s charging ecosystem. The collaboration will make the charging technology available to DKV Mobility customers in Germany for the first time on a broader scale, the companies said. Previously deployed only in small pilot projects, the charging curb system embeds EV charging hardware directly into the roadside curb rather than using traditional wallboxes or freestanding charging stations. Under the new partnership, DKV Mobility will offer the solution to its corporate fleet customers,…
