Toyota Prepares Full Electric Powered Pick Up, ready to become a serious challenger to the F-150 Lighting and Cybertruck

Although known not to be too aggressive in presenting a pure electric model in its lineup, Toyota is secretly developing an electric-powered pick-up vehicle. This is revealed from several images circulating in cyberspace.

This is the first appearance of Toyota’s concept car in the truck segment as previously promised. This is in accordance with Toyota’s plan to present 15 new electric-powered vehicles by 2025.

If you look at the appearance offered by Toyota’s electric-powered double cabin pickup, it is not like a pickup in general. The dimensions look slimmer and concise, even the sporty impression is also quite prominent on the exterior.

The electric trucks we know so far like the GMC Hummer EV SUT, Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T are generally bulky and very masculine.

Some rumors say that the design highlighted in the Toyota concept vehicle will be applied to models that have existed before. We can’t say for sure whether it will be used on the Tundra or the Tacoma, but the more widespread information is that the new generation Tacoma will provide an electric variant in addition to the conventional engine. Although there are Tundra elements in this section, such as dimensions and front fascia that do not use a grille with honeycomb accents.

The current Toyota Tacoma uses a V6 configured engine with a capacity of 3.5 liters. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that works to deliver 278 hp to all the wheels.

It could be that the new engine offered by the Toyota Tacoma electric variant has greater performance and is more efficient because it no longer uses a complicated drive system.

In addition to the engine, today’s EV pickups also have formidable off-road capabilities despite their trendy appearance. Toyota doesn’t seem to want to lose that portion in the future, so it has prepared EV pickup ammunition from now on. Although some time ago, Toyota Global President Director, Akio Toyoda stated that EV is not a solution to combat air pollution, but in fact the manufacturer is still taking this step.

On the other hand, this Toyota concept car will be equipped with thick off-road tires to accommodate its ability in all terrains. Quoted from gearpatrol.com, there will also be a TRD Pro variant with a white color and additional off-road accents in some parts of the exterior.

There is no further information regarding the details and specifications of the Toyota Pick Up EV concept, even the introduction was carried out internally within Toyota.
