Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar has unveiled the updated Polestar 2, showcasing a range of enhancements including design updates, an overhauled pack structure, extended range, and increased personalization options. The company, a subsidiary of China’s Geely Holding Group, has delivered over 160,000 units of the Polestar 2 across 27 markets since its initial launch.
The newly launched model is currently being introduced in Europe and Canada, with plans to expand to other markets later this year. Polestar has announced that starting from 2025, the pack structure of the Polestar 2 will be harmonized with its upcoming models, the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, offering customers more individual options for customization.

All variants of the Polestar 2 now boast improved range, with the Long-range Single Motor version achieving up to 659 km (WLTP). In Europe, the Standard range Single Motor variant now features an upgraded 70 kWh battery from CATL, resulting in an increased range of up to 554 km (WLTP).
The Polestar 2 introduces two new exterior color options: Vapour, a modern color with a light metallic effect inspired by urban architecture, replaces Magnesium as the standard color, while Storm, a dark aluminum color first seen on the Polestar 4, replaces Thunder. Additionally, the vehicle features a new 19-inch Aero alloy wheel with aero inserts and a new 20-inch Pro graphite alloy wheel, available with the Pro Pack option.

Inside, the Polestar 2 boasts animal welfare-secured Charcoal Nappa leather upholstery from Bridge of Weir. Customers opting for the Pro Pack will also notice the new seatbelt design, featuring black with a Swedish Gold stripe running its entire length.
Polestar offers various pack options, including the Climate Pack with a heat pump, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, and heating for the washer fluid nozzles. The Pro Pack includes 20-inch alloy wheels and Swedish Gold detailing on the seatbelt and tyre valve caps. Other packs such as the Pilot Pack, Plus Pack, and Performance Packs complete the range of customization options.

Last week, Polestar announced its plans to expand into seven new markets in 2025, including France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Thailand, and Brazil, as part of its strategy to widen its customer base and increase sales.
In a recent development, Polestar has integrated with Nio’s charging network in China, allowing Polestar customers to access a broader coverage and more efficient charging experience. This collaboration underscores the growing trend of cooperation among EV makers in China towards enhancing the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. According to Polestar, this integration will significantly benefit its customers in China, providing them with a seamless and convenient charging experience.
