Nikola start regular manufacturing of Nikola Tre battery-electric Class 8 truck

Nikola Corporation announced that it has started production of the Nikola Tre BEV truck and has started the delivery phase to consumers.

At the Coolidge, Arizona, United States (US) factory, Nikola has produced 2,500 trucks. However, the plant is currently undergoing expansion so it is expected to be completed in 2023 and is ready to produce up to 20,000 trucks per year.

“We started production of the Tre BEV on March 21 here at Coolidge and today we are celebrating this milestone and the early delivery of the truck to our customers,” said Mark Russell, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nikola.

Reported by Nikola’s official website on Friday (29/4/2022), the Governor of Arizona, USA, Douglas Anthony Ducey said that Nikola had become a driving force in Arizona’s rapidly growing electric vehicle industry.

“Watching this innovative company grow and take root in Arizona is truly amazing. With the start of production at this manufacturing facility, Nikola is clearly in the driver’s seat of the future of transportation and commerce,” he explained.

At the same time, Sandra Watson as President and CEO of Arizona Commerce Authority also stated that with its world-class universities and community colleges, Arizona has some of the best engineering and manufacturing talent in the United States (US).

Sandra added that not only is Nikola a top company in the region, they are also attracting top tier suppliers to further develop Arizona’s strong electric vehicle supply chain.
