The Nikola Tre is a distinct model based on Iveco's heavy duty truck, the S-Way. The Nikola Tre integrates Nikola's state-of-the-art electrical technology and a next-generation exclusive infotainment system that significantly changes the look of the dashboard compared to the S-Way.

The integration of Nikola's designs on the Iveco S-Way has been carried out with Italdesign. Where the Italian design house also signed Nikola Tre's first maquette which was unveiled in April 2019.

Nikola Tre uses a modular battery with a capacity of up to 720 kWh, which can be customized according to customer requirements. The vehicle featured in the launch is the Nikola Tre 4×2, which offers a range of up to 400 km (248 miles).

The infotainment system integrates climate control, mirror adjustment, suspension height adjustment, 360 degree camera system, navigation, Bluetooth audio system, vehicle setup and vehicle diagnostics admin The electric motor in this car delivers a sustained output of 480 KW (644 HP/653 PS) and torque 1,800 Nm (1,328 lb-ft) peak.

The truck will also be available in 2 and 3 axle versions, with payloads ranging from 18 to 26 tons (39,683 – 57,320 lbs). Nikola Motor Company promises dynamic performance equal to or better than diesel models.

Nikola said the Tre is the first step on the path towards a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) model that will be available in 2023.
