Kraken Acquires Jedlix to Enhance Smart Charging Solutions

Kraken, an AI-supported platform, has announced the acquisition of the Dutch smart charging specialist Jedlix, which includes both the technology and the team from the Dutch company. Kraken plans to transform Jedlix’s facilities in Rotterdam into a technology center as part of this integration.

The acquisition aims to bolster Kraken’s position as a provider of flexible demand management solutions for energy suppliers while also enabling electric vehicle drivers to access “cheaper and cleaner energy.” Specific details regarding the financial terms or future offerings stemming from the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Devrim Celal, Kraken’s Chief Marketing & Flexibility Officer, stated, “The Jedlix team’s proven expertise and development center in Rotterdam expand our offering and empower our customers to transition to cheaper, cleaner charging.” Serge Subiron, CEO of Jedlix, remarked on the partnership, emphasizing the ambition to extend Jedlix’s mission of enabling zero-emission and zero-cost charging for millions of electric vehicles globally.

Jedlix specializes in intelligent and bidirectional charging solutions and boasts a comprehensive catalogue of API integration agreements with various electric vehicle manufacturers and energy suppliers. Notable partners include Renault, Polestar, Kia, Hyundai, Engie, Eneco, and Wallbox, among others.

Kraken, part of Octopus Energy, operates as an AI-supported end-to-end platform focused on the digital transformation of utility companies. Its clientele includes major players such as EDF Energy, E.ON Next, Origin, and Tokyo Gas, positioning Kraken as a significant entity in the evolving energy landscape.
