South Korean automaker Kia has officially introduced the production version of its latest electric vehicle, the EV4, during its 2025 Kia EV Day event in Tarragona, Spain. The EV4, available as both a sedan and hatchback, follows Kia’s recent wave of electric models, including the flagship EV9 and EV9 GT, the refreshed EV6 and EV6 GT, the compact EV5, and the small EV3. Alongside the EV4, Kia also previewed the Concept EV2, a subcompact electric crossover SUV slated for a 2026 launch.
First showcased as the Kia EV4 Concept in late 2023, the EV4 is built on the 400-volt version of the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), making it an accessible yet high-performance addition to Kia’s expanding EV lineup. The model is set to launch in South Korea in March, with global sales following at a later date.

Buyers will have a choice between a standard 58.3 kWh battery pack and a long-range 81.4 kWh variant, both powering a front-mounted 150 kW (201 hp) motor. The EV4 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in 7.4 to 7.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 170 kph (106 mph).
The EV4 has been engineered for efficiency, featuring a fully covered underbody to enhance aerodynamics, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd. Kia claims a best-in-class range of up to 630 km (391 miles) on the WLTP cycle for the long-range battery model. Additional features include vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities, as well as fast charging that enables a 10% to 80% charge in just 31 minutes.

Set to arrive in Europe and other global markets in 2026, the Concept EV2 features a highly configurable interior, rear-hinged back doors reminiscent of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and innovative design elements intended to enhance urban exploration.
“Kia remains committed to becoming the world’s leading EV brand and sustainable mobility solutions provider by enhancing the options and experiences we offer our customers,” said Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song. “With models like the Kia EV4 and the vision shown in the Kia Concept EV2, we strive to democratize EV ownership, making the benefits of sustainable mobility solutions open to everyone.”
