Indonesian charge point operator Voltron has signed an agreement with Geely to provide electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at all of the automaker’s dealerships in the country, the companies said. The deal will initially cover six locations.
Geely entered the Indonesian market in January and has reported early momentum, including more than 1,000 orders for its EX5 SUV by the end of February. The Chinese automaker was also awarded the ‘Favourite New Comer Car Brand’ at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS).
While the current scope of the charging deal is limited, Geely has stated its ambition to establish 100 sales and service outlets across Indonesia within the next three years. As the dealership network expands, additional charging stations are expected to be added.
Voltron, though not widely known internationally, describes itself as Indonesia’s largest licensed public charging network, known locally as SPKLU. The company operates more than 400 public charging points and adds about 50 each month. Beyond the dealership locations, Geely customers are expected to have access to Voltron’s broader network.
“This collaboration with Voltron is concrete proof of Geely’s commitment to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles in Indonesia,” said Yusuf Anshori, brand director of Geely Auto Indonesia. “With the presence of Voltron charging station facilities in our authorized dealer network, customers can now enjoy more practical and convenient charging, enhancing the overall electric vehicle ownership experience.”
Geely is also localizing production of the EX5 at its Bekasi Phase II facility in partnership with PT Handal Indonesia Motor, with output targeted to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
