Da Han EV Dimensions and Design
The Da Han is positioned as a Dynasty 9-series flagship large sedan above the existing Han. It joins the previously launched Da Tang SUV as part of BYD’s expanding flagship lineup.
The electric sedan measures 5,256 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width and 1,510 mm in height. Its wheelbase stretches to 3,130 mm, providing a substantial footprint for a large executive sedan.
Aerodynamic efficiency is also a major focus, with the Da Han EV featuring a drag coefficient of 0.197.
Power and Performance
The rear-wheel-drive Da Han EV uses a single electric motor producing a peak output of 370 kW.
The all-wheel-drive model adds a 200-kW electric motor to the front axle, taking combined peak output to 570 kW, equivalent to approximately 764 horsepower.
According to BYD, the AWD version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 270 km/h. It can also accelerate from 100 to 150 km/h in 3.2 seconds.
The sedan’s claimed braking performance includes a 100-to-0 km/h braking distance of 32.83 meters.
Rear-Wheel Steering and Air Suspension
The Da Han EV is equipped with rear-wheel steering, which is designed to improve both high-speed stability and low-speed maneuverability.
BYD says the system gives the sedan a minimum turning radius of just 4.95 meters despite its large dimensions.
The model also comes standard with DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension. The system is part of a broader set of 15 standard features that BYD says are available across the Da Han EV range.
1,008-Km Battery Range
Battery capacity is another major highlight of the Da Han EV. Previous regulatory filings indicated that the model can be equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of up to 102.326 kWh.
The rear-wheel-drive versions offer a maximum CLTC range of 1,008 km, while the all-wheel-drive version is rated for up to 880 km.
BYD has also equipped the sedan with ultra-fast flash charging technology, aimed at reducing charging time and improving long-distance usability.
Standard Technology and Luxury Features
BYD is positioning the Da Han as a premium flagship sedan, and its standard equipment reflects that strategy.
All three launch variants feature the LiDAR-equipped version of BYD’s God’s Eye B driver-assistance system. The vehicles also come with smart dimming privacy glass and a 31-speaker Devialet audio system.
Other standard equipment includes dual zero-gravity front seats, while the DiSus-A air suspension and rear-wheel-steering systems are intended to combine ride comfort with improved handling.
PHEV Version Coming Later
The Da Han lineup will not be limited to battery-electric power. BYD is also preparing a plug-in hybrid version.
The Da Han PHEV will use a 1.5T engine combined with a drive motor producing a peak output of 200 kW. However, BYD has not yet started pre-sales for the plug-in hybrid model.
Further specifications and pricing for the PHEV version are expected to be announced closer to its market launch.
BYD’s Push Into the Premium Sedan Market
The Da Han represents BYD’s latest effort to move further into the premium vehicle segment. Rather than replacing the existing Han, the new model sits above it as a larger flagship offering within the Dynasty brand.
Together with the Da Tang SUV, the Da Han forms part of BYD’s expanding D-segment flagship strategy. The combination of a 1,008-km claimed range, up to 570 kW of power, advanced suspension, rear-wheel steering, LiDAR-based driver assistance and extensive standard equipment gives the new sedan a broad technology and performance package.
With pre-sales now underway for the three EV variants, the Da Han is set to become one of the most significant new models in BYD’s Dynasty lineup as the automaker continues its push into China’s premium vehicle market.
