Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled Pleos, a new software brand and technology platform designed to enhance its transition to software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Pleos will serve as an end-to-end platform, covering everything from vehicle operating systems to fleet management, while enabling features such as autonomous driving, vehicle connectivity, and real-time data analysis.
Pleos integrates high-performance chips, controllers, a vehicle operating system (Vehicle OS), and the Pleos Connect infotainment system. The platform also includes cloud infrastructure and solutions for mobility and logistics optimization. This technology stack is designed to provide a range of intelligent mobility functions for drivers, including optimized route planning and autonomous driving capabilities.

With the creation of Pleos, the Hyundai Group aims to accelerate its development of SDVs by innovating in electrical and electronic (E&E) architecture. The company plans to roll out Level 2 autonomous driving by the end of 2027, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance vehicle efficiency. Additionally, Pleos will facilitate the integration of software and infrastructure, helping to improve connectivity between vehicles and their surrounding environments.
In conjunction with Pleos, Hyundai has also launched the ‘Next Urban Mobility Alliance,’ which seeks to establish a cloud-based mobility ecosystem through public-private partnerships. The alliance will address social issues such as mobility rights, regional depopulation, and climate change, with a focus on autonomous transportation solutions.
