The Ioniq 5 is the first electric vehicle to use the exclusive Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). E-GMP owned by Ioniq 5 is claimed to be able to provide considerable benefits such as increased flexibility, powerful performance, increased driving mileage, strengthened safety features, to an increase in cabin and wider luggage.

The Ioniq 5 is an extraordinary vehicle, and that's why the Ioniq 5 won several prestigious awards this year. The following are some of the things that make you must have Ioniq 5.

Exterior

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has an attractive design thanks to the retro-futuristic style applied to the exterior. The exterior design used by the Ioniq 5 is taken from the 1974 Hyundai Pony which is then combined with a number of modern ornaments in some corners. One of the most interesting touches is the use of Parametric Pixel LEDs on the front and back. There is also a spoiler at the stern which emphasizes the sporty impression of the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

In addition, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 also highlights the Parametric Dynamics design throughout the body, especially on the sides which gives the effect of the front door as if it blends with the second row door. In addition, in order to increase the impression of being tough on the vehicle, the Ioniq 5 also provides all its wheels with 20-inch alloy wheels with a dynamic design. While all the door handles use the Flush Door Handles type which looks flush with the body when locked.

Interiors

As we know, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 uses the E-GMP platform which is specially designed for Hyundai's current electric vehicles. This also affects the cabin design which is more spacious and even the manufacturer calls it the Living Space concept.

In addition, as a form of environmentally friendly mobility, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 also uses recycled materials for a number of its parts.

One of them is the upholstery material made from recycled PET bottles and wool in some parts. Then a number of parts on the door trim that use 100% HDPE paper, as well as the paint content used for doors and crash pads also use natural ingredients containing oils extracted from plants such as radish and corn flowers. To provide a spacious cabin space, you can adjust the seat position electrically including the center console that can be folded for extra comfort.

In terms of entertainment in the cabin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 provides a 12.3-inch TFT LCD touch screen that can be integrated with smartphones via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We are also still spoiled with additional comfort features such as Premium Relaxation Seat, LED Ambient Mood Lighting, Panoramic Roof and wireless charging on the center console.

Performance

The Prime Standard single speed 2WD and Signature Standard single speed 4WD variants come with a battery capacity of 58 kWh. As well as the Prime long range single speed 2WD and long range single speed 4WD variants which are both powered by a 72.6 kWh battery capacity.

While on paper, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Prime Standard and Signature Standard can be driven as far as 384 km on a single full charge. While the Prime Long Range variant can travel up to 481 Km and the Signature Long Range type can cover a distance of 451 Km (based on WLTP1).

In addition, we will also be spoiled with three choices of driving modes namely Normal, Sport and Eco. In addition, the lighting system in the cabin and the cluster meter display will change automatically according to the selected driving mode. The performance produced by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is also quite powerful because the Prime Standard and Signature Standard types are able to make the IONIQ 5 go from 0 – 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds. While the Prime Long Range and Signature Long Range types only need 7.4 seconds to reach a speed of 100 km / h from a standstill.

In addition, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is also equipped with a regenerative braking feature that utilizes kinetic energy when the vehicle decelerates and increases the efficiency of the vehicle's electricity consumption. You can also take advantage of the i-Pedal device with high deceleration which is suitable for use during congested conditions and can increase battery consumption so that it is more efficient. Another feature that is also useful for regenerative braking can also be operated via the paddle shift lever behind the wheel. You can select levels 0 to 3 for riding with one pedal as needed.

Safety and Security Features

One of the advanced features that are now used in almost Hyundai vehicles is SmartSense which is also embedded in all Ioniq 5 variants. Drivers will be spoiled with a number of safety features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping & Lane Following Assist (LKA & LFA) , Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go Function (SCC) w/ S&G), High Beam Assist (HBA) and Surround View Monitor (SVM). In addition, the IONIQ 5 also has a Brake Assist System (BAS), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) and Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS).

V2L

In addition, the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature is also available which functions as a power source and can be used for other needs, including outdoor activities. So that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 can not only meet consumer needs as an environmentally friendly mobility but can also be a resource for other outdoor purposes. The battery can provide access to power of up to 3.6 kW for various driver needs such as smartphone charging, electronics and lighting.
