Forum Mobility Launches Largest Electric Truck Charging Depot at Port of Long Beach

Forum Mobility has opened the FM Harbor electric truck charging depot at the Port of Long Beach, the world’s largest port-based facility dedicated to electric truck charging. This fully operational site is designed to support over 200 electric drayage trucks daily, in alignment with California’s efforts to promote zero-emission freight transport.

The opening event featured key figures from the California Air Resources Board and the Port of Long Beach, who highlighted the facility’s contribution to reducing emissions and enhancing air quality.

The FM Harbor depot boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, including 19 dual-port and six single-dispenser 360 kW chargers. This setup allows for simultaneous charging of up to 44 trucks, ensuring efficiency for high-demand operations. In addition to the charging capabilities, Forum Mobility has introduced innovative leasing programs for Class 8 electric trucks, providing truckers with affordable options to transition to electric fleets without significant upfront costs.

Forum Mobility is also expanding its charging network with additional depots planned in South-Central Los Angeles and the Inland Empire, aiming to create a comprehensive charging ecosystem along key freight routes. Partnerships with industry leaders such as Amazon Global Mile and Talon Logistics highlight the growing demand for electric truck charging infrastructure. The development of FM Harbor is further supported by investments from Climate United, which is backing up to 500 Class 8 electric trucks, and Elemental Impact, which has contributed to both development costs and community outreach efforts.
