Cadillac’s electrification journey has taken a bold leap with the introduction of the 2026 Lyriq-V, marking the brand’s first fully electric V-Series model. Designed to blend luxury with adrenaline, this high-performance crossover claims the title of the quickest road-going Cadillac ever created. Here’s a comprehensive look at what sets the Lyriq-V apart in the evolving electric vehicle landscape.

Under the hood—or rather, beneath its sleek exterior—the Lyriq-V packs a formidable punch. A dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, powered by a 102 kWh lithium-ion battery, generates an estimated 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. While these figures mirror those of Cadillac’s three-row Vistiq, the Lyriq-V sheds 346 pounds, weighing in at 5,980 pounds. This weight reduction translates to blistering acceleration: the crossover rockets from 0–60 mph in just 3.3 seconds when using Velocity Max mode, edging out the gas-powered CT5-V Blackwing by a tenth of a second.

However, raw speed comes with a trade-off. The Lyriq-V’s estimated range of 285 miles falls short of other all-wheel-drive Lyriq variants, which offer between 303 and 319 miles. To mitigate this, Cadillac emphasizes charging flexibility. A DC fast charger can replenish up to 75 miles of range in 10 minutes, while home charging options vary from a standard 7.7 kW AC charger (adding 19 miles per hour) to an optional 19.2 kW system that delivers 44 miles per hour.

Performance isn’t limited to straight-line speed. Engineers reworked the Lyriq-V’s dynamics, equipping it with a quicker steering ratio and a lowered multi-link suspension featuring continuous damping control. These tweaks aim to balance comfort with agility, bolstered by driver-centric features like Launch Control, customizable V-Mode, and a Competitive Mode that enhances traction during spirited driving. Stopping power comes from massive 15.35-inch Brembo front brakes—nearly 2.8 inches larger than those on the standard Lyriq—paired with red calipers bearing the V-Series logo.

Cadillac also prioritized sensory engagement. The Lyriq-V boasts a unique sound experience inspired by the brand’s LMDh race car, using strategically placed speakers to create an immersive cabin atmosphere. Drivers can toggle the system off, but its dynamic audio profile adds a layer of excitement to the electric driving experience.

Visually, the Lyriq-V distinguishes itself with subtle yet sporty touches. A redesigned front fascia with mesh inserts, aggressive side skirts, and a chin spoiler signal its performance intent. V-Series badges adorn the rear doors and tailgate, while optional carbon fiber accents and an exclusive Magnus Metal Frost paint job elevate its presence. The crossover rides on 22-inch wheels with a dark finish and etched V-Series logos, wrapped in summer performance tires (all-season alternatives are available).

Inside, the Lyriq-V retains the acclaimed luxury of its siblings but adds performance flourishes. A V-Series steering wheel with an aluminum Regen On Demand paddle, bolstered front seats, and premium upholstery cater to driving enthusiasts. Tech highlights include a 33-inch infotainment display with a “V-ified” interface, a dual-plane augmented reality head-up display (a Cadillac first), and a 23-speaker AKG audio system. Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance and a fixed panoramic glass roof round out the premium offerings.

Production begins in early 2024 at Cadillac’s Spring Hill, Tennessee plant, with deliveries slated for later this year. The 2026 Lyriq-V isn’t just a milestone for Cadillac’s electric ambitions—it’s a declaration that high-performance EVs can be both thrilling and accessible. By merging race-inspired engineering with everyday practicality, the Lyriq-V positions itself as a trailblazer in the luxury electric segment, proving that speed and sustainability need not exist in separate lanes.
