Spanish charging infrastructure manufacturer Circontrol has introduced its new high-power DC charging station, the Sonic One, offering up to 400 kW of output, at the Power2Drive trade show in Munich. The launch was accompanied by updates to its AC product range and new regulatory certification for Germany.
The Sonic One is available in two versions—Sonic One 320 and Sonic One 400—corresponding to their peak charging capacity in kilowatts. Both variants support charging at up to 500 amps in boost mode, regardless of vehicle voltage. Power can be distributed between two charging points per unit, which include integrated cable management and a 32-inch touchscreen that also allows for third-party advertising displays.
Circontrol said the new Sonic One was designed to meet the diverse operational needs of charging point operators, particularly in high-traffic locations. Multiple authentication options are supported, including Autocharge, RFID, mobile apps, QR codes, contactless payment terminals, and a keypad. The station operates across a voltage range of 150 to 920 volts and delivers over 96% efficiency at full output, according to the company.
In addition to the Sonic One, Circontrol showcased updated AC products. The revamped eVolve Smart, a free-standing AC charger, now features a 7-inch display and can manage up to six units through coordinated load balancing. The wall-mounted eNext Park, offering up to 22 kW per port, has a new 5-inch color screen and dynamic QR code functionality in compliance with the EU’s AFIR regulation.
The company also announced it has received German calibration law certification for its Raption Compact 80, 160, and 240 DC chargers. Circontrol said the certification is a key step in expanding its presence in the German market, which it considers strategically important.
