Italian charging station manufacturer Alpitronic has introduced its first megawatt charging system, the HYC1000, which features a new modular design that separates power modules from the charging unit. The system, available with both CCS and MCS plugs, is scheduled for delivery starting in July.
The HYC1000 follows Alpitronic’s previous upgrades to its fast chargers, replacing older models with the more powerful HYC200 and HYC400. The latest system offers a higher power density of 125 kW per power stack, a 25% increase from previous 100 kW modules.

With up to eight power stacks, the total output reaches one megawatt, while efficiency remains at 97.5%. By centralizing the power distribution, the new system allows energy to be allocated in increments of 62.5 kW, optimizing usage across multiple charging points.

“As we move towards an electrified future, charging infrastructure must evolve to meet the needs of different fleets and high-performance applications,” said Philipp Senoner, CEO of Alpitronic. “This innovative system offers significant advantages in terms of power utilisation, efficiency, and flexibility.”
Alpitronic has yet to disclose pricing details for the HYC1000 but expects deliveries to begin mid-year. The company says the new system can support up to eight simultaneous vehicle charges or deliver a full megawatt to a single vehicle, improving adaptability for charging networks.
