Changan Deepal S05 Specifications: Everything You Should Know

Changan’s Deepal Auto has unveiled the specifications for its first compact SUV, the Deepal S05. This new model is available in two powertrain options—pure electric and extended-range—and offers a total of five trims, catering to a range of consumer preferences.

The design of the Deepal S05 distinguishes it from previous Deepal models, featuring a sportier appearance. Notable elements include a closed front grille and a three-segment lower air intake, which contribute to the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal and aerodynamics.

The dimensions of the Deepal S05 are 4620 mm in length, 1900 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2880 mm, providing a spacious interior.

The two powertrain options for the Deepal S05 include a pure electric version with a 175 kW electric motor and a 56.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering an estimated CLTC range of 510 km.

The extended-range version is equipped with a 1.5L range extender system that provides a maximum output of 72 kW for the extender and 160 kW for the electric motor. This version includes a 27.28 kWh battery pack and offers a pure electric range of 200 km, giving potential buyers flexibility in their choice of powertrain.

Inside, the Deepal S05 features a two-tone color scheme with chrome accents, hidden air conditioning vents, and a 15.4-inch center control screen that provides access to infotainment and vehicle settings.

The vehicle also incorporates intelligent cruise control and replaces the traditional instrument panel with a large heads-up display (HUD) for essential driving information. All models are equipped with the Qualcomm SA8155P automotive chip, enhancing performance and connectivity.

The S05 offers a range of options, including four BEV variants and two EREV variants, reflecting the company’s strategy of catering to consumers transitioning to electrified vehicles. The BEV versions are priced between RMB 119,900 and RMB 145,900, while the EREV variants start at RMB 139,900 and RMB 149,900.
