Battery manufacturer CATL and e-commerce company JD.com have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to collaborate in areas related to green logistics, battery technologies, and sustainable energy systems.
According to the companies, the partnership covers a wide range of fields, including omni-channel battery services, logistics and warehousing, zero-carbon industrial parks, digital supply chains, administrative and employee services, data centers, and overseas business support.

In the new energy vehicle (NEV) energy replenishment sector, CATL and JD.com plan to establish official direct sales channels for the “Choco SE” battery swap model. The cooperation aims to expand the use of battery-swapping technology and promote vehicles equipped with this system to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Both companies also intend to work together in the battery aftermarket through JD Car Maintenance’s nationwide network, covering testing, maintenance, recycling, and related services. The initiative is expected to offer new energy vehicle users more accessible and professional support throughout the battery lifecycle.

In the field of heavy-duty truck electrification, the two companies plan to integrate CATL’s “Qiji” battery swap solution into JD’s long-haul logistics operations. The collaboration will include pilot projects for battery-swapping heavy-duty trucks and plans for zero-carbon park construction, with CATL supporting JD’s efforts to modernize its transport fleet.
CATL and JD.com also plan to coordinate the layout of battery swap stations at logistics hubs and along key transportation routes to create an energy replenishment network connecting trunk logistics and industrial park operations.

Additionally, CATL will provide JD’s industrial parks and logistics centers with integrated green energy systems combining photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, charging, and battery swapping, referred to as the “PV-storage-charging-swapping” model, to improve energy efficiency across JD’s logistics network.
