Austrian battery diagnostics specialist Aviloo is rolling out an upgraded version of its battery health assessment platform, aimed at setting new standards in the second-hand electric vehicle (EV) market. The revised tools, including a faster ‘Flash Test’ and a redesigned battery certificate with real-world benchmarking, will be available starting June 23.
The upgrades promise faster results, improved transparency, and greater ease of use. Central to the rollout is a reengineered battery certificate now accompanied by the ‘Aviloo Certified’ seal. Aviloo says the new tools are designed to “instil confidence in used EV transactions” through a more intuitive and independent evaluation process.
Unlike manufacturer tools that rely on vehicle-sourced data, Aviloo’s diagnostics independently calculate a battery’s State of Health (SoH). The company emphasizes this as a critical distinction, enabling deeper insights. “The Aviloo battery test elevates battery diagnostics to a new technological level,” said CEO Marcus Berger. “Through our detailed analysis process, customers receive an accurate and independent assessment of their vehicle’s battery health—something that cannot be achieved through a standard SoH readout.”
The updated certificate introduces a cell-level heatmap to identify anomalies, real-world range estimates benchmarked against WLTP data, and peer comparisons by vehicle age and mileage. Aviloo’s proprietary dataset, built from hundreds of thousands of global tests since 2019, underpins these benchmarking capabilities.
In addition to individual vehicle buyers, the company is targeting leasing firms, fleet operators, and used car dealers. Berger noted the economic impact, citing recent research: “An international study from 2024 shows that recognised, independent battery certificates lead to profit increases of €550 to €1,100 for dealers.”
The new certificate and Flash Test enhancements will be available at no extra cost to current license holders. Aviloo offers both the three-minute stationary ‘Flash Test’ and the more detailed, drive-based ‘Premium Test’ using its proprietary Aviloo Box.
