Hyundai is considering the possibility of building two additional EV battery plants in the United States with LG Energy Solution and SK Innovation. The current plan is likely to use LG’s factories located in Georgia, each with an annual capacity of around 35 GWh which is enough to power around 1 million electric vehicles. Fisker said in a press release that the company has no bank guarantees with Magna Steyr’s manufacturing partner, an Austrian unit of Magna International Inc (MG.TO). Japanese automotive manufacturer, Honda, recently announced that it will launch its popular compact crossover, namely the CR-V, which is powered by hydrogen fuel cells. The CR-V with hydrogen cells will launch in 2024 and will be built at the former Acura NSX supercar factory, located in Marysville, Ohio. Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD targets to sell 10,000 electric vehicles in Mexico by 2023. Meanwhile, a senior executive at BYD has set a sales target of 30,000 vehicles by 2024. BYD Company Head Zhou Zoutahun said that next year BYD will start selling electric vehicles from sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and Han sedans through eight dealers across Mexico. This data comes from S&P Global Mobility Research which identifies which brands consumers abandon when they buy a new Tesla. Tesla is a pioneer of electric vehicles and has been a market leader for a very long time.
