NIO and Shell last year signed a battery charging and exchange station cooperation agreement across China and Europe. On August 1st, NIO and Shell launched a supercharging station and battery exchange station located in Xiamen, Fujian province in Southeast China. Mercedes-Benz is recalling 660 EQS electric vehicles according to a statement posted today in China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR). This is part of a total recall of 11,908 Mercedes-Benz vehicles in China. BYD has resumed its ambitious expansion of bringing electric passenger vehicles outside of China. CATL will supply M3P batteries to Tesla in the fourth quarter for use on the Model Y produced by Giga Shanghai. The battery has a capacity of 72 kWh and will be available early next year. BYD recorded record sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in July when some of their competitors experienced a decline.
