Covid-19 restrictions kept NIO’s October deliveries from hitting record highs as previously thought, a report from Bloomberg citing people familiar with the matter said. In its report, Bloomberg said the Covid-19 restrictions saw the loss of about 7,000 electric vehicles in production, meaning shipments had fallen by about 5,000. Figures released on November 1 showed NIO delivered 10,059 vehicles in October, down 7.5 percent from 10,878 in September. Mullen Automotive has just launched the New I-GO, which is basically a tiny Chinese-made EV that takes on some of the semblance of a Smart ForFour design. Zeekr, the electric vehicle sub-brand of Chinese auto giant Geely has officially launched its second model, the 009 electric MPV. Zeekr announced the official launch of Zeekr 009 at an event yesterday, and it is now available in two versions, the WE version and the ME version, starting at RMB 499,000 ($68,560) and RMB 588,000, respectively. According to a report by local news outlet 36kr, NIO has closed two of its production facilities in China to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The two production facilities that have been shut down are in iHefei, Anhui province, which has resulted in several delays in the delivery of electric vehicles to consumers. NIO has just announced the delivery of their electric vehicles for October 2022 with the company to be announcing financial results for the third quarter on November 10, 2022 By October 2022, NIO delivered 10,059 electric vehicles to their customers. This number increased by 174.3% compared to October last year. Of the 10,059 electric vehicles delivered to consumers, there were 5,979 electric SUVs and 4,080 electric sedans.
