NIO announced that it has launched China’s 1,200th NIO Power Swap Station at the Suzhou New District Jinke Wangfu Hotel. The company itself targets to have 1,300+ Power Swap stations by the end of 2022 and 4,000+ by 2025. In the past year, NIO has opened 600 new power swap stations. Chinese new energy vehicle giant BYD will start selling two new passenger vehicle models for the Brazilian market this month. The two new models for the Brazilian market are the Song hybrid and the fully electric Yuan. This information is known from a letter the company sent to their employees at SAIC Volkswagen’s transmission factory in Shanghai, China. Geely signs an agreement with ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) to license the all-electric Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). EMP will use Geely’s SEA platform for electric vehicles under the Izera brand. The first Izera model to use Geely’s SEA platform is an electric compact SUV. Geely subsidiary Radar Auto has just launched the RD6 electric pickup truck which is its first model in China. The RD6 electric pickup truck comes in four versions with prices starting at 178,800 yuan, under 25,000 euros. Chinese automaker Aiways has equipped the U6 with the same 63 kWh battery pack as the U5, complete with 24 CATL modules that can be charged at speeds of up to 90 kW at a DC fast charging station. This battery then drives a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor with 215 hp (160 kW) and 232 lb-ft (315 Nm) of torque.
