Tesla will be releasing an update to its Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta feature in January, according to a tweet from CEO Elon Musk. This update will address user complaints about the steering wheel prompts that appear while using the driver-assist system. Lucid Motors has made its first deliveries in Saudi Arabia after starting deliveries in Europe. The company held a ceremony at its first store in the Middle East, located in the capital city of Riyadh, earlier this week. Tesla has announced that it is now able to produce enough of its new 4680 battery cells to equip around 1,000 electric vehicles per week. In a statement made at the end of December, the company revealed that it had achieved a production rate of 868,000 4680 cells in a single week, sufficient for the aforementioned number of cars. This marks the first time that Tesla has disclosed detailed figures on 4680 cell production. The United States government is rolling out new incentives starting January 1, 2023 for delivery companies to replace internal combustion engine vans with all-electric vehicles. According to Reuters, the incentive is part of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and will offer companies such as FedEx and Amazon a tax credit of $7,500 or $40,000 depending on the size of the delivery vehicle. Canada has introduced proposed legislation that would see the country embrace electrification in a big way. Under the proposal, car manufacturers and importers will be required to meet annual zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sales targets. This will apply to the 2026 model year, when automakers are required to have at least 20 percent of the vehicles offered for sale be zero emission vehicles.
