Hyundai announced that its hydrogen-powered, heavy-duty XCIENT Fuel Cell Fuel Truck is entering the Israeli market. It becomes the first country in the Middle East to establish a hydrogen value chain in the region. Hyundai Motor is supplying three XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks to Israel as part of a partnership between Israeli agency Colmobil, hydrogen producer Bazan, and hydrogen fueling station operator Sonol to form a hydrogen value chain in Israel. Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated fuel cell system brand HTWO today signed into partnership with ENGINIUS, a subsidiary of FAUN Group, to supply fuel cell systems for mass production of hydrogen-powered commercial trucks. Through its cooperation with FAUN Group, a key player in the European refuse truck market, HTWO will further accelerate its fuel cell system business. Blue Bird has teamed up with Highland Electric Fleets to make it simpler and more affordable for Hardin County Community Unit School District #1 (CUSD #1) in Illinois to upgrade to clean electric school buses. The school district ordered 12 Blue Bird Type C electric school buses through Highland. Highland’s innovative fleet electrification-as-a-service offering allows districts and third-party fleet managers to avoid the upfront costs and complexity of electrification, accelerating the adoption of clean student transportation. In August, two eSprinter operated by Austrian Post (Österreichische Post), the country’s major provider of postal services, were equipped with integrated fine particle filters in the front module, designed to reduce particle emissions. Since then, the all-electric vans have been out and about in Graz every day and have now covered a total of almost 6.400 km on their delivery routes. Japanese auto giant Toyota is targeting carbon neutrality by 2040 in Europe. Toyota claims they are on track for a 100 per cent CO2 reduction in all new vehicles in Europe and the UK by 2035. Over the next 10 to 15 years, Toyota will use a combination of battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, full electric and hybrid electric vehicles to reduce emissions. Marks & Spencer (M&S) and bp pulse have signed an exclusive agreement to bring high-speed electric vehicle (EV) charge points to the M&S store estate across the UK. The agreement will see M&S and bp pulse, bp’s electric vehicle charging business, work together to install an initial 900 electric vehicle charge points in around 70 of M&S’ national stores in the next two years.
