Allego, a leading charging infrastructure operator, has lowered its DC charging rates in the Netherlands to €0.793 per kilowatt-hour, down from €0.864, in a move aimed at making high-power charging more affordable for electric vehicle users.
The revised pricing, in effect since 1 July, applies to all DC fast-charging stations, including both high-power chargers (HPCs) rated at 150 kW and above, and slower 50 kW DC units, according to Allego’s mobile app ‘Smoov’. While the company’s announcement referred broadly to a “HPC price reduction,” the updated rate appears to be consistent across all DC stations.
“HPC, or High-Power Charging, is at the forefront of the electric mobility revolution, enabling drivers to power up their vehicles in minutes rather than hours,” said Jules Sommers, Managing Director of Allego Netherlands. “At Allego, we are dedicated to making this advanced technology accessible and affordable for all.”
The per-minute blocking fee of €0.25, which takes effect after 45 minutes of charging at HPC stations, remains unchanged. Prices for AC charging also remain steady, ranging between €0.39 and €0.62 per kWh, with a €0.50 per-minute idle fee starting after five hours, except during nighttime hours between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
In addition to the rate cut, Allego has launched its ‘Summer Pass 2025’, offering a 30% discount on ad-hoc charging at more than 5,000 of its own and select partner network fast-charging stations across Europe. The Summer Pass is available through Allego’s web portal for a monthly fee and will be valid through 30 September.
