Powerdot, the Portuguese charging infrastructure operator, has successfully completed a financing round of over 100 million euros, setting the stage for a significant expansion of its European network.
The company intends to use the funds to double its network, with plans to increase its charging points from 5,000 to almost 10,000 at 1,400 locations in Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium, and Poland.

The financing round comes on the heels of what Powerdot describes as “exceptional growth” in 2023, boasting a 201% increase in operational charging points and a 218% rise in kWh consumption. The company currently operates 5,000 active charging points at 1,300 locations in its existing markets.
The capital increase was led by existing investors Antin Infrastructure Partners and Arié Group. Luís Santiago Pinto, CEO of Powerdot, expressed excitement about the transformative growth the investment will enable, stating, “With over 5,000 charging points in operation and an additional 10,000 in deployment, this investment will catalyze transformative growth, enabling us to expand our network and contribute to the evolution of sustainable mobility.”

Anand Jagannathan, Antin NextGen partner, affirmed Antin’s commitment to Powerdot’s growth, while David Arié, a Board Member at Arié Group, emphasized their continued support for the project, citing the strong operational focus of the Powerdot team and the company’s remarkable growth in 2023.
In Portugal, Powerdot boasts over 1,300 charging points, with a significant presence in France and Spain as well. In France, the company has over 3,700 operational charging points, experiencing a 500% year-on-year growth in kWh consumption.
