To support a new era of electrification and connectivity, Jaguar Land Rover is opening a facility to test the next generation of electric vehicles.
This British multinational automotive company said in an announcement some time ago that the testing of this new test facility will be in Gaydon, England.
Using the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory (EMC), the company will ensure future electric vehicles meet quality standards for connectivity and electricity.
EMC is critical to EV performance, as EMC is meant to ensure electrical systems function properly in their electromagnetic environment.

Jaguar Land Rover’s new vehicle laboratory has two anechoic chambers for testing individual vehicles and vehicle components. Among these are electrically ‘quiet’ rolling roads that allow engineers to test vehicles at speed, as well as equipment to assess performance.
The performance assessment that will be tested by the facility for EMC includes batteries or electric motors. Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, 4G, 5G, adaptive cruise control, wireless charging and blind spot monitoring.
“The importance of testing our vehicles for electromagnetic compatibility cannot be underestimated,” said Peter Phillips, Senior Manager, Electromagnetics and Compliance at Jaguar Land Rover.
Furthermore, Phillips said that the opening of this new test facility is an important step forward for the business and will play an important role in helping the company deliver quality, legal and customer satisfaction.
