Kempower has partnered with mobility provider Aimo to deploy public fast-charging infrastructure at SkiStar Lindvallen in Sälen, Sweden, marking the first such installation at the popular ski destination. The site is operated by Aimo Charge, which manages EV charging networks across Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
Located near the Experium complex and key resort amenities, the facility includes four Kempower Satellite DC charging points, each capable of delivering up to 150 kW. The chargers are intended to allow visitors to recharge quickly during daytime activities rather than relying on overnight charging.

Lindvallen is the largest ski area in Sälen and a major winter destination in the Nordic region, where electric vehicle adoption is among the highest globally. SkiStar said about 85% of its guests arrive by car, increasing the importance of on-site charging as EV ownership rises.
The installation is designed to be expandable. SkiStar plans to extend the system to support electric buses that will transport guests and staff between facilities. Kempower’s modular architecture allows additional chargers and power capacity to be added without major infrastructure changes.

The project received financial support from Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s Klimatklivet investment program, which funds initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including EV infrastructure.
“We are delighted to have completed our first project in collaboration with Aimo Charge and SkiStar in Lindvallen ahead of the 2025–26 ski season,” said Robert Hägg, Sales Manager for Sweden at Kempower. “Now, anyone traveling to Sälen can quickly top up their EVs in central Lindvallen with the usual convenience and user-friendliness of Kempower chargers.”

Victor Lindwall, Head of Aimo Charge, said the resort required equipment that was “fast, scalable, and user-friendly” for large visitor volumes, adding that the installation supports SkiStar’s efforts to future-proof its facilities.
SkiStar Sustainability Manager Fanny Sjödin said transportation to and from resorts represents a major share of the company’s climate impact. “For those who choose to drive an EV to the mountains, it should be easy and convenient to charge on site,” she said, noting the company’s broader goal of maintaining climate-resilient winter tourism.
