Geely Holding Group’s premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary, Zeekr, is set to make its foray into the Singapore market in 2024 as part of its global expansion strategy. The company has inked a distribution deal with Premium Automobiles, an Audi retail dealer in Singapore, solidifying its presence in the region.
According to a report in The Straits Times, Premium Automobiles signed the distribution agreement with Zeekr in late December. The upcoming Zeekr showroom, situated in the Leng Kee Road area, is expected to be operational in the first half of 2024, dedicated exclusively to Zeekr vehicles and distinct from Audi offerings.
Zeekr’s entry into the Singapore market will feature two models – the Zeekr 009 MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) and the Zeekr X urban SUV. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2024, marking the debut of Zeekr’s right-hand drive vehicles in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Founded in 2021, Zeekr has been actively expanding its international footprint. After unveiling its European strategy in April 2021, the company made its international market entry in the Netherlands and Sweden. Zeekr’s product lineup includes the Zeekr 001, Zeekr 009, and Zeekr X, with the Zeekr 001 making its European debut in the Netherlands on December 11, 2022.
In addition to its European expansion, Zeekr has forged partnerships globally, including agreements with Israeli distributor Union Group, collaboration with AW Rostamani Holdings in the UAE, Wallan Trading Company in Saudi Arabia, Blue Lake Motors in Qatar, and Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons in Bahrain.
The move into Singapore represents another strategic step for Zeekr as it continues to establish itself as a significant player in the international EV market. The company’s commitment to right-hand drive vehicles in Singapore aligns with its goal of catering to diverse markets and expanding its presence on a global scale.
