Yudo Yuntu Electric SUV Starts Pre-sale At 13,400 USD, Offer Range Up To 415 KM

The Yuntu is Yudo Auto’s all-electric SUV with a pre-sale price range of 90,000 to 100,000 RMB (13,400 to 14,900 USD). It is set to officially launch in Q1 of this year, and is said to be a tribute to the upcoming Chinese Year of the Rabbit.

Yudo Auto is an electric vehicle brand that was established in December 2015. Its first model, the Yudo Pi 1 small crossover SUV, was revealed in October 2017, followed by the launch of the Yudo Pi 3 compact crossover SUV in March 2018. The brand sold 9,300 units in that year.

However, sales began to decline and the planned models failed to launch. In H1 2020, the company faced financial troubles due to the pandemic, resulting in salary cuts and layoffs. Yudo Auto was able to resume production in mid-2022 after receiving new funding.

According to the carmaker, the design of the Yuntu is inspired by the rabbit in the Chinese zodiac. The Yuntu is a small SUV with dimensions of 4035mm in length, 1736mm in width, and 1625mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2480mm. The trunk has a volume of 310L. The roof trim, window frames, wheel arches, and side skirts are all blackened, with a raised waistline that gives the body a longer visual appearance.

The front of the vehicle features a closed grille design that denotes its pure electric SUV identity. The LED headlights are sharp and narrow, and said to be inspired by the eyes of rabbits. The charging port is located under the logo display.

The Yuntu is fitted with 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels. At the rear, it features “C” shaped blackened-through-type taillights and air vents on both sides of the rear closure. A black decorative panel at the bottom includes a diffuser.

The interior details have not been released yet. The vehicle is powered by a 70 kW permanent magnet synchronous drive motor and lithium iron phosphate batteries that offer a cruising range of 320 km or 415 km depending on the CLTC range.
