Leapmotor, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker backed by Stellantis NV, has introduced an updated version of its T03 compact electric vehicle (EV), eliminating the entry-level variant and raising the model’s starting price.
The revised Leapmotor T03, launched on Tuesday, is now available in two variants, priced at RMB 59,900 ($8,270) and RMB 69,900. Both models feature lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs, offering CLTC ranges of 310 km and 403 km, respectively. This marks a shift from the 2024 T03, which debuted in March last year with three variants priced between RMB 49,900 and RMB 69,900, and CLTC ranges starting at 200 km.

The T03 remains an A0-class, four-seat battery electric vehicle (BEV) with dimensions of 3,620 mm (length), 1,652 mm (width), and 1,605 mm (height), and a 2,400 mm wheelbase. The new model is a single-motor, front-wheel-drive EV, with the lower-priced version delivering 55 kW and the higher-end version producing 80 kW. The 0-50 km/h acceleration times are 5 seconds and 4.1 seconds, respectively, with a top speed of 100 km/h.
To boost sales, Leapmotor is offering limited-time incentives for customers who purchase the updated T03 before February 28. These include a RMB 6,000 discount on the final payment, financing interest subsidies of up to RMB 2,000, and a home charger valued at RMB 2,680. Combined with a national trade-in subsidy of up to RMB 20,000, buyers could save up to RMB 30,680, the company stated.

Separately, Leapmotor also announced that it has integrated AI models from Chinese AI firm DeepSeek into its cockpit system, enhancing user experience. However, this AI-powered functionality will only be available in the brand’s higher-end C-series models.
Leapmotor’s current lineup in China includes the T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16, with all models except the T03 available in both BEV and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations.
