Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng said on Thursday it will begin offering revised versions of its G6 and G9 electric SUVs in Europe starting in the second half of July 2025, with deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter. The announcement marks the next phase of the company’s European expansion, as it brings its latest EV technology and design updates to key markets on the continent.
The updated G6 and G9, first presented for the Chinese market in March, feature a new 800-volt architecture with advanced silicon carbide semiconductors and 5C lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries across all variants. According to Xpeng, this battery system will support rapid DC charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 12 minutes. LFP chemistry also eliminates the need for critical raw materials like cobalt and nickel, offering a more sustainable solution.

“Technical specifications and prices will be announced in good time before the start of sales,” Xpeng said in a statement. European customers in the Netherlands, Belgium-Luxembourg (Belux), Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and France can now register their interest via the company’s official websites.
While Xpeng Germany has not confirmed battery sizes or full powertrain options for the European versions, insights from the Chinese model give a likely preview. In China, the G6 is available with 68.5 kWh or 80.8 kWh batteries, delivering ranges of 625 km and 725 km, respectively, based on the CLTC testing cycle. The update has also streamlined the lineup in China to three rear-wheel drive variants powered by a 218 kW electric motor.

It remains unclear whether European models will mirror this simplified configuration or whether all-wheel drive options will be added. The exterior redesign of the G6 appears modest, retaining its 4.76-meter length and 2.89-meter wheelbase. A new “Stellar Purple” matte metallic paint finish has been added to the European offering.
Meanwhile, the larger G9 SUV will also retain its existing footprint of 4.89 meters in length and a 3.0-meter wheelbase. The updated G9 focuses more on comfort, adding a heat-insulated panoramic sunroof and ten-point massage seats. The model will also feature 5C LFP battery packs—either 79 kWh or 93.1 kWh in capacity—providing ranges between 625 and 725 km, according to the company.
Charging time for the G9 is similarly slashed from 20 minutes on the older 3C system to 12 minutes with the new 5C setup. Powertrain options in China include a 258 kW rear-wheel drive variant and a 423 kW all-wheel drive model, although Xpeng has not confirmed whether both versions will be sold in Europe.

Pricing for the revised European models has not yet been announced, but the current G6 starts at €43,600 and the G9 at €59,600 in Europe, both with smaller battery options. However, Xpeng recently reduced prices in China by 11% for the G6 and 5% for the G9, despite upgrading performance and charging speed.
Xpeng, which counts Volkswagen as a strategic partner, is pushing ahead with plans to boost its European presence amid stiff competition from both Chinese and legacy automakers. The company is expected to follow the G6 and G9 relaunch with another electric SUV model for the Chinese market in the coming months.
